I came here for the Silky chicken hor , fun, my favorite in the last twenty years. They also offer sets which make ordering easier. The decor is simple and artistic, and dining can be inside the air con or alfresco.

One of the oldest restaurants in Holland Village having started out as a small street food vendor. Though the place is supposedly known for its Ipoh Hor Fun, I believe that thats overrated. The true gem at this restaurant though, is their Silky Chicken Rice that is just another name for Steamed Chicken, White Chicken or Hainanese Chicken Rice. I wouldn't recommend going for just one plate but rather a group of 2-3 people going for half a Silky White Chicken. I can say that its one of the best Hainanese Chicken Rice I've eaten, having enjoyed it from a young age the taste remains constant most of the time. (They do have their off days sometimes) The half a Silky White Chicken comes in a larger than usual portion, being served on an oval plate and covered with their signature oyster sauce (!!) Ensure that the chicken is soaked in a thick pool of oyster sauce, if its just a drizzle make sure to ask for more or it really doesn't do a dish justice. The smooth texture of the chicken skin and meat combined with the tastiness of the oyster sauce makes it one of the best chicken rice around. Of course you must make sure that every piece of chicken you eat is drenched in oyster sauce, or else you won't get to eat the unique flavour of the chicken. (In the past they always gave loads of oyster sauce, but nowadays I only seem to get it from time to time) The chicken is submerged in ice cold water to give the skin a smoo texture and keep the meat moist and tender after cooking. So don't expect a steaming hot plate of chicken but rather an ice cold (as a compliment) plate of chicken covered in delicious oyster sauce. The rice itself is also wonderfully fragrant and goes along very well with the chicken. Overall, I must say that it is one of my top favourite Chicken Rice stalls on the island over the years with the standard remaining consistent most of the time though I have been disappointed on a few of my trips there. The char siew is also great there with large thick long slices of char siew with a deliciously thick char siew sauce instead of the usual dry thin tasteless char siew that most places serve. But do not go there for the Hor Fun as you will be sorely disappointed, the chicken rice is the one to try!
